Semen Padang FC coach, Dejan Antonic, was disappointed because his team still had to host Persija in Padang on December 22 2025 even though the area was still affected by the Sumatra disaster.

BOLASPORT.COM – Still in the midst of the Sumatran disaster situation, Semen Padang’s request to change the status of the Super League match against Persija at their home ground was rejected by the I.League.

Semen Padang is scheduled to host Persija at the H. Agus Salim Stadium in the Super League continuation on Monday (22/12/2025).

However, this schedule does not feel good if it is forced to take place considering the sad situation of the community and the condition of Padang City, especially the area around the stadium which is currently still affected by natural disasters.

Moreover, there has been a decision by the Governor of West Sumatra regarding the extension of the disaster emergency response status from 9 to 22 December 2025.

Semen Padang through a letter dated December 6 2025 signed by the Main Director of PT Kabau Sirah SP, Hermawan Ardiyanto, and addressed to the I.League Competition Director has officially requested a change where the match status is changed to a home match for Persija.

“We hereby submit a request to change the status of this match to an away match at home to Persija Jakarta in the first round of the 2025-2026 Super League and a home match at the H. Agus Salim Stadium in the second round,” said the letter of application.

“We submit this request by considering the situation and conditions of Padang City and the area around the Haji Agus Salim Stadium which is currently still affected by natural disasters.”

“The post-disaster conditions disrupted infrastructure readiness, security, comfort and the feasibility of holding matches according to operational standards
determined by PT Liga Indonesia Baru and PSSI.”
