A super one Dole Rimini wins the parquet with a show of authority Givova Scafati, in the advance of the 16th round of the A2 Old Wild West series. Coach’s boys Of the Lamb they close the dispute at 79-92, showing a good team balance and valid ball circulation despite the absence of point guard Gerald Robinson. Rbr plays perhaps the best first half of its season, with high statistics and many players involved. At the end of the second quarter the guests reached their maximum lead of +28 (29-57). In the second half Scafati tried to come back, but without ever worrying Dole more than necessary. The Rimini team found five men in double figures: Marini 20, Denegri 19, Ogden 17, Tomassini 16 and Simioni 10. Of note is the presence of around fifty celebrating red and white fans in the away match.

Start of match with Mascolo, Walker, Allen, Mollura and Iannuzzi for Givova. Dole replies with Denegri, Marini, Pollone, Ogden and Camara. Camara opened the match with a free throw, then with Mascolo and Walker the hosts took the lead 5-1. But Rbr soon takes countermeasures: Denegri starts to warm up his hand and the baskets are his for the 5-3 and 8-5. With Pollone’s triple the red and whites put their noses ahead 8-10 and Rimini’s offensive production begins to become sumptuous. Denegri and Ogden hit two triples in a row for 10-16. Coming out of a time out, Dole continues to grind out certainties: 10-18 Ogden and 11-21 by Denegri for the +10 in the 7th minute. With a dunk from Simioni, the Romagna players reach 13-26. But it’s not over: 5-0 scored by Tomassini-Simioni for +15 (16-31). Caroti closes the quarter 19-31. Rbr delights with 6/12 from two and a super 5/7 from three.

We start again and it’s absolute control for Dole. Marini shows off his entire repertoire, well supported by Leardini and Rimini scores a new 8-0 which allows them to fly to +20 (19-39) after just 12′. Coach Dell’Agnello’s boys are a steamroller: first Denegri for +24 (23-47), then Ogden from the corner says +26 (24-50) after a splendid circulation of the ball. There is only one team on the pitch and that is Rimini. While Scafati continues to mess around on both sides of the pitch, captain Tomassini and his teammates are unleashed: with a triple from Giovanni the maximum advantage rises to +28 (29-57). To close the first half, two free throws from Walker made it 31-57.

Recovery without particular shocks. Givova tries to raise the intensity at the start of the second half, the issue lasts for a handful of minutes: Iannuzzi and Walker push up to 44-61. But Rimini maintains firm control of the match: Tomassini from three finds the new +20 (44-64) then with Marini also reaches +22 (46-68). Time passes quickly: again +23 with Ogden (50-73) and +21 (54-75) from Tomassini. The quarter ends at 56-75, with the partial going to Scafati 25-18.

After Simioni’s 56-77, Givova went on a 7-0 run of desperation to try to come back: the Campania team fell back to -14 (63-77) with Walker’s basket. After having given so much during the first three quarters, Dole found herself having to administer: the baskets from free throws and two points scored by Marini were important for the 66-82. For Rimini the safety baskets still come from Marini who scores with 76-90 and 76-92. The match ends with a triple by Italiano 79-92. Rbr takes home two very important points.

Go Rimini!!!
