Liverpool doubled their lead in the second half, in the 60th minute to be precise. Hugo Ekitike headed a corner from Mohamed Salah.

Salah got a golden opportunity towards the end of the match. He received a mature pass from Federico Chiesa in front of the goal, but his shot missed the target.

Liverpool were able to maintain their lead until the final whistle sounded. The Reds closed the match with a 2-0 win over Brighton.

Salah’s performance in the Liverpool vs Brighton match was praised by his teammate Hugo Ekitike. He considered the King of Egypt as a role model.

“Mohamed is a great professional. I see him as an example. You can see how much he is involved in goals and assists. He is a legend here,” said Ekitike, quoted from BBC.

The match against Brighton also marked Mo Salah’s comeback at Liverpool. The 33 year old player was previously parked for 2 consecutive matches and has not started the last 5 matches.

Salah is apparently disappointed because he is no longer Liverpool’s first choice. He felt he was being made a scapegoat for the team’s poor performance, so he gave the code to leave Anfield next year.
