Yuka Kanematsu Head Coach

“Thank you very much for your support from all over the world for this tournament. It was my first time participating in a world top 8 tournament for two consecutive weeks, and it was a much tougher second tournament than I expected. The players really did their best.I think it was tough for both the players who took the field and the players who couldn’t, but everyone’s desire to fulfill their 14th responsibility was 50%. I am grateful to the players who joined us right before the tournament, and to the players and staff who supported us until the end. We will apply what we learned from these two tournaments to our future Sakura Sevens activities, and we look forward to your continued support of the Sakura Sevens.”

Michiyo Suda player

“Thank you for always supporting Sakura Sevens. It was a tough battle for the second consecutive tournament, but I am proud that all 14 members fought until the end. Although it was not the result we were aiming for, we will continue to grow by using the various lessons, regrets, and joys we gained from this tournament as fuel for the future. We look forward to your continued support of Sakura Sevens.”

Yume Hirano player

“Thank you so much for your support at the Cape Town tournament. It was a physically and mentally tough tournament as it was held two weeks in a row. I am proud of the 14 players and staff who fought until the end even under difficult conditions. Although the result was not what we wanted, I think we were able to overcome this tournament and become even stronger. Sakura Sevens will continue to fight as one in the remaining tournaments. Thank you for your continued support.”

Maisuke Yoshino

“Thank you so much for your support during this tournament despite the time difference. We had some tough moments as a team, but each of us played a 1/14th role and we were able to win the final match, which was a great asset. Although we were unable to achieve our goal of finishing second or higher, we will continue to grow as individuals and as a team. Thank you for your continued support.”

Wakana Akita player

“Thank you so much for all your support for the Sakura Sevens! It was a tough match schedule as it was the week after the Dubai tournament, but I think we were all able to embody the Sakura Sevens rugby until the end. We will all prepare for the next tournament. We look forward to your continued support for the Sakura Sevens!”

Ayane Hasebe player

“Thank you for your support for the Sakura Sevens. I believe that the result of this tournament was because everyone was able to embody the theme of this year, “First Move,” and played a 1/14th role. Personally, I am happy to be able to participate in the World Series for the first time. I will use this experience as fuel to do my best to compete at a high level. Thank you for your continued support for the Sakura Sevens.

That’s all
