The Krasnodar press service congratulated the team’s former goalkeeper Matvey Safonov on his sixth trophy won as part of the French PSG.
On Wednesday, PSG beat Brazilian Flamengo in a series of penalty kicks in the Intercontinental Cup final. The main and extra time of the meeting in Ar-Rayyan (Qatar) ended with the score 1:1; in the penalty shootout, 26-year-old Safonov saved four shots.

Safonov made his debut for the Krasnodar main team in 2017, where he spent several seasons, becoming a silver and bronze medalist at the Russian Championship. In 2024, the goalkeeper moved to PSG, signing a contract until the summer of 2029. Together with the Parisians, he won the championship, the French Cup and Super Cup, the Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup.
