Liofilchem conquers the Allianz Cloud in Milan with a great performance at the end of an intense match, conducted from the beginning but decided only in the final minutes, thus achieving the first away victory of the season, a victory that is worth the 8-point lead over Ruvo di Puglia. A great performance was expected from the blue and whites and it was no coincidence that it arrived, a game that was controlled but also keeping an eye on the lead taken by the Lombards with 7 to go: well done to Laquintana and his teammates for believing in it until the end, thanks to a very tough defense capable of leaving Urania with only 14 points in the last ten minutes.
For Roseto at the end two in double figures, 19 each for Cannon and Robinson: for the American big man he played at 360° with 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 27 rating, while for the point guard he had 9 assists and the three triples in the last 5 minutes which directed the match towards Abruzzo. Also important mention for an excellent Kiryl Tsetserukou with 9 points in 14 minutes and Tommy Laquintana with 14 points.
Liofilchem started off strong straight away, 10-15 with a triple from Laquintana launched into the quintet by Bassi: Tsetserukou also came in well, Urania (Gentile out and with Rogic unused on the bench) who returned with Taylor, but the biancazzurri were definitely there and achieved the maximum advantage of 12-21 with Cannon and then 14-27 at the end of the period with Cinciarini. Second half in which the hosts raise the intensity with the Cavallero-D’Almeida duo, 28-36: a triple from Landi puts the guests back at 28-41, with the quarter ending at 30-44.
Upon returning from the long break, Milan puts the fifth, Taylor and Cavallero bring the locals back to minus 7, 37-44. Bassi timeout and Rosetano counterpartial with Laquintana and the usual Cannon. Sabatini is a factor, Amato’s first triple arrives and Urania gets back in touch, 46-53 in the 27th. Timperi puts 4 in a row, followed closely by Taylor, until 55-62 at the end of the quarter with baskets from Tsetserukou and the usual Taylor.
The last ten minutes are incandescent: immediate 6-0 for Milan with Lupusor and Taylor, Roseto struggles and scores after two minutes of play with Cannon, but Morgillo first and Cavallero then seal Milan’s lead at 65-64 in the 34th minute. Inertia totally changed, Morgillo again for +3 with Liofilchem struggling in attack. Landi scores from the line, then Robinson brings Roseto back ahead with a triple and Cinciarini follows closely for the 67-71 in the 36th. Taylor misses twice in a row and D’Almeida also misses from the line, here “Scoop” Robinson enters the scene with two sidereal torpedoes from 6.75 that send the blue and whites flying to +9, 68-77. Urania is no longer there, with Cannon first and Robinson then finishing definitively for a heartfelt victory.
The next round will be on Sunday 28 December at PalaMaggetti against Brindisi for the last match of 2025.
