BAARN On Friday evening, BC Inside ’82 1 won all eight games against BV Huizen 96 1, not even giving up a set. After the resounding 8-0, Inside is the leader in the fifth badminton division, two points ahead of Gaasperdam 5.
A blemish on the beautiful evening in Rackethal De Geeren was the injury of Erin van der Kamp (photo). He was replaced by Frits van der Laan, who played the mixed doubles together with his daughter Anna van der Laan, and won 21-16 and 21-16.
The most exciting match was between Manar Ibrahim of the Baarn team and Astrid Westland van Huizen (21-19 and 22-20). Erin van der Kamp and Toon van den Tweel started the evening with a convincing victory in their men’s doubles, 21-12 and 21-15.
The ladies Manar Ibriahim and Anna van der Laan had a slightly more difficult time (21-18 and 21-18). Van den Tweel won his single twice 21-15 and Van der Kamp triumphed 21-10 and 21-15. Van der Laan also recorded a solid victory in her single, 21-16 and 21-18.
The biggest set win of the evening came from Ibrahim and Van den Tweel in their mixed doubles: 21-4. The second set ended 21-17.
On December 21, BC Inside 1 will play the last match of this year, against ‘t Slot 1 in Zeist. In 2026, the competition will continue on January 9 with a home match against De Treffers 1 from Hilversum. This team is in the penultimate place of the rankings, with 18 points. Hekkensluiter Huizen has 11 points.
