Ringsted Badminton Club | Play Badminton in Denmark

Great support for this year’s New Year’s tournament

112 participants – of all ages and sizes – were ready to give it a go on the badminton courts in Ringsted Sports Center on Sunday morning. It was Ringsted Badminton that held their traditional New Year’s tournament, where the shuttlecocks flew over the net in all three halls until 1:30 p.m.

While there was perhaps a little more focus on cozy togetherness in the family row, the steel was used in the B row, which could just as easily be called the A row, since the two rows had been merged.

Ringsted Badminton was challenged by the fact that the sports center’s café is closed, but volunteers in the club ensured that there was still a thermos of coffee ready for participants when they turned up.

– For us, it is important that our New Year’s tournament is also an event where there is talk and fun among the participants. That’s why coffee is important. It sends a signal that there is more than competition in sports, says Ringsted Badminton’s chairman, Torben Lollike.
The chairman was also pleased with the many registered teams.
– 28 teams is a good number, he asserts.
– There may well be a few more teams, but we are not complaining about the support.

After three hours of intense matches, the eight pool winners were found and awarded.

Winner in the exercise category: Stram Kæde, the Petersen family, the young Monday veterans and Team Byråd.

Winners in the family series: The Santas, Familien Bay, Lord of the Strings and Team Pølsemix.
