Six years ago, the sports team that was worth the most in the world reached 5 billion dollars (4.26 euros at the current exchange rate, the same that we applied to the entire ranking). Now that figure wouldn’t even be enough to enter the top 50. The Dallas Cowboys are confirmed in first place in the 2025 Forbes ranking, as they have been every year since 2016, but today the NFL team has a stratospheric valuation of 11 billion euros. Together, the top 50 teams are worth over €301 billion, or an average of €6.05 billion each, up 22% from 2024 and more than double from just four years ago. Eight franchises in the top 50 posted year-over-year increases of at least 30%, and this number does not include Ferrari and Mercedes Formula 1, which are both up 58% since 2023 but were not rated by Forbes last year. The NFL clearly leads, leaving only two franchises (Cincinnati Bengals and New Orleans Saints) out of 32 out of the rankings. The NBA also did very well with 12. MLB baseball did poorly, placing only two (Yankees and Dodgers), while the NHL didn’t even have one. Here is the complete ranking, from bottom to top.
