Qatar Sports Investments continues to engage in global football. Owner of Paris Saint-Germain and minority shareholder of the Portuguese club Braga, the Qatari investment group announced this Tuesday “the upcoming acquisition of KAS Eupen”. The Eupenois currently play in the Challenger Pro League, the Belgian 2nd division.
The entire club will be bought by QSI. Since 2012, this has belonged to the Aspire Zone Foundation, also a Qatari investor. “Under the terms of the memorandum of understanding, QSI will ultimately take full operational control of the club, including all associated sporting, commercial and operational assets, within a very short period of time,” Qatar Sports Investments said in a statement.
“This investment reflects QSI’s core strategy of developing sports assets, enhancing athlete development and pathways, and fostering high-performance environments within and across its group properties,” the statement continued. Although it currently plays in the 2nd division, the German-speaking club was still in the Jupiler Pro League during the 2023-2024 season and is ranked 7th in the standings after 15 matches.
