Il Paris Saint-Germain will have to pay almost 61 million euros to Kylian Mbappé. This was established by the Paris Labor Court, which accepted the appeal presented by the French striker for unpaid salaries and bonuses at the end of his contract in 2024.

From contractual conflict to civil lawsuit
At the basis of the story is the stormy end of the relationship between Mbappé and the French champion club. After trying in vain to recover 55 million euros before the sporting authorities, the current Real Madrid striker turned to ordinary justice. His lawyers had also requested the reclassification of the fixed-term contracts into a permanent contract, paving the way for a total request of 263 million euros. However, the Council rejected this part of the appeal, limiting the sentence to the payment of the arrears actually due.
The verdict and reactions
The court rejected all requests from PSG, which had asked Mbappé for 440 million euros, citing damage to its image, loss of market opportunities and alleged bad faith. In addition to the immediate payment, the Parisian club will also have to publish the Court’s ruling on the home page of its official website for a month. The player’s lawyers spoke of a sentence that “reestablishes a simple truth: even in football, employment law applies to everyone”. PSG has taken note of the decision, announcing its intention to carry it out but reserving the right to appeal.
