When he doesn’t like something, he makes it clear. Sparta’s sports chief Tomáš Rosický often holds up a mirror to coach Brian Priske.
Football Sparta was like night and day in the autumn part. She performed excellently in the Conference League and secured a place in the round of 16. But she often lost in the domestic league. And even with opponents, with whom she should be able to deal with. The recent 2:4 defeat against Pardubice at home is a good proof of this. The result is a seven-point loss to the leader Slavia. And sports chief Tomáš Rosický can’t just pass. He took a shine to coach Brian Priske.
It makes him think differently
And not once. According to him, he adjusts the mirror to him every now and then. “How did you see it, what do you think we could have done differently? And from this level it’s important to give him those impulses. Whether he takes something from it or not, of course, is up to him. But you make him think differently. And I think Brian already knows that from our first stint. I always tell him what I really think. Honestly,” outlined Rosický in an interview for the fan site Spartaforever.cz.
“We’ll say: OK, we sent it here. Or: we shouldn’t have done this. Or: you shouldn’t have done this. But we have exactly the same thing with Sivy, because the setting has to be such that we tell each other straight. I like all these guys. I brought them all here. Sometimes they annoy me a lot, sometimes I like them a lot. I brought them here from other cities, from other countries. But when we talk about the team, I always say – I want to win and they I don’t care with whom” added Rosicky.
Rosický: Eneme is different
One of the things that the former fantastic player criticized Priske was the small deployment of reinforcement from Liberec, Santiago Eneme. “But in this particular case, could Brian have reacted better? I guess so,” outlined Rosicky. This is not an exaggerated criticism. A proper sports boss just has to sometimes “bang” on the table and speak his mind.
Specifically, in the opinion of the SportyŽivě editors, Eneme is one of the most interesting summer reinforcements. “This is a boy who, when he came off the bench, never failed. And now we saw how he played in Olomouc. A tough game, first time in the base, and he handled it very well. I think he is a good player because he has a different dimension than the others. Sometimes he slows the ball down, then he can speed it up. He is different from the others.” added Rosický for the fan site Spartaforever.cz.
