Plasencia Football Tournament: Supporting ASPACE This Weekend

This morning, the Plasencia City Council presented a new edition of the Alevín and Benjamín Solidarity Football Tournament, which will be held on December 27 and 28 at the Municipal Stadium, and which this year will allocate its proceeds to ASPACE Plasencia within the municipal solidarity calendar.

The Councilor for Sports, Isabel Blanco, has highlighted the effort behind the organization of the event: “This tournament involves a lot of weeks of work, even more so at Christmas time. For the City Council it is a satisfaction to have a club that, during these six years of collaboration, has demonstrated professionalism and commitment to Plasencia. We hope that the tournament continues to grow and be a success.”

A tournament that opens its stage and celebrates a special edition.

The managers of the AD Nuevo Plasencia club, Alberto Hurtado and Eduardo Sánchez, have stressed that this edition is special for two reasons: It will be the first time that the tournament is held in the Municipal Stadium, recently renovated, and because the club is preparing to celebrate its tenth anniversary in 2026, a milestone that will promote new sporting and solidarity initiatives.

The tournament will bring together Alevín and Benjamín categories, with first-year teams competing on Saturday and second-year teams on Sunday.

The days will begin at 8:45 and the finals will be played at 7:00 p.m. Admission will cost 3 euros, destined for the organization and the donation that will be given to ASPACE.

Reference clubs from Castilla y León will participate in this edition, as well as teams from Toledo and a youth team linked to Sporting Lisbon, reinforcing the regional and international character of the tournament.

ASPACE: visibility, awareness and support for families.

The director of ASPACE Plasencia, Gala Rodríguez, has expressed her gratitude to the City Council and the club: “For ASPACE, any gesture counts. These events have a double aspect: the economic one, but above all the visibility, which is fundamental for us. The involvement of children and families provides enormous awareness and support for diversity.”

Rodríguez recalled that ASPACE has been working in the province for 35 years and currently serves about 240 people from Plasencia and its surroundings, from babies with early care to people with disabilities who require support in motor, language and cognitive areas. He also took the opportunity to thank the families, sponsors and the association’s professional team for their involvement.
