Pediatric Heart Surgery Leader: A Director’s Story

Milan, December 25, 2025 – Of all the places to stay in Natalea hospital bed is the last in the world. Especially for a boy or girl, who should have as their only concern unwrapping presents, eating and playing. Unfortunately for many children this is not the case, but often in children’s lanes pediatric departmentson holidays people arrive who are capable of cheering the hearts of patients and relatives for a few hours.

And that’s exactly what happened at the Niguarda hospital this afternoon. A joking Santa Claus wandered around, laden with gifts, among spaces and corridors that were emptier than usual. He posed with doctors and nurses, alone behind the glass of a Cup station. In short, he was the protagonist for a few different hours.

A rather special Santa Claus: under his beard and red hat was Stefano Marianeschi, director of the Niguarda pediatric cardiac surgery: “Thanks to him, to his team and the associations Dr. Sorriso, Kibinti and the Social Osa basketball club for bringing gifts and smiles to our department Paediatrics”, writes the hospital on social media.

The joy of Santa and his helpers certainly gave smiles and unforgettable moments to the little patients at Niguarda. A priceless gift, on days like these.
