OU University College of Engineering which won the OU inter-college ball badminton championship in Hyderabad on Tuesday.

Hyderabad: Osmania University College of Engineering defeated Dr BR Ambedkar College 33-35, 35-28, 35-29 in the final of the OU inter-college ball badminton championship at Government Degree College (Ibrahimpatnam).

Irfan and Tanish played well for the winners, while Anand and Aravind put up a good show for the losers.


University PG College (Siddipet) scored a 35-28, 35-30 win against Government Degree College (Ibrahimpatnam) to settle for third place.

Dr s Radhika, Principal, GDC, ibrahimpatnam, was the Chief Guest at the Valedictory Function.

Nizamabad recorded a 39-run win against Hyderabad in the league phase of the Kaka Venkataswamy Memorial Telangana Inter-district T-20 cricket championship here on Tuesday.

The scores: Nizamabad 183/5 in 20 overs (Harshwardhan 53, J Vikram 61 no) bt Hyderabad 144/9 in 20 overs (MS Prateek 3/30, R Lalith 3/31).

Rangeddy 139 in 19.2 is overse ( J Sys Devesh 40, Ismail Ahmed 4/22) lost to Adilabad 140/5 in 18.5 overs (A Santosh 51, Mohammed Asphon 48).

Medak 120 in 18.5 overs (K Shaumik 3/26) lost to Karimnagar 124.7 in 17.5 overs (E Thakshil 33, R Akhil 317).

Nalgonda 223/5 in 20 overs (Adi Mani Kiran 73, Gnana Prakash 29, P Sainad 64, Srinath 26, Abhinandhan 2/43) bt Khammam 156 in 19.2 overs (Mohammed Rizwan 53, S Vamshi 45, Shivudu 3/16, P Sainad 2/33).

Vijay Merchant Trophy: Hyderabad takes lead

Hyderabad grabbed a vital first innings lead of 12 runs despite a fine spell by Hardik Sharma (six for 53) against Himachal Pradesh in the Vijay Merchant Trophy (under-16) cricket tournament fifth round match at Vijayawada on Tuesday.

Batting first, Himachal scored 200, and in reply, Hyderabad notched up 212.

In the second essay, Himachal was off to a confident start, scoring 86 for no loss at the close of play on the second day.

The scores: At Vijayawada: Himachal Pradesh 200 in 71 overs & 86/0 in 18 overs (L Sameer 34 batting, Aryan Mehta 50 batting) vs Hyderabad 212 in 90.3 overs (C Sai Tanishq 48, Harsh 94, Sai Sarath 41, Hardik Sharma 6/53).

Sportive Cricket Club recorded a five-wicket win against Charminar in the HCA B-Division T-20 League-cum-knock-out cricket tournament here on Tuesday.
The scores: Charminar 137/7 in 20 overs (Vaibhav Chary 57 no) lost to Sportive 141/5 in 18 overs (E Nihal Reddy 49, Abhishek Murugan 65 no).

MP Blues 171/4 in 20 overs (Syed Hidayath H Wali 48, S. Raju 43, H Dasarath 51) lost to Enscons 172/3 in 18.4 overs (Keshav Upadhyay 55, Imran Khan 42, Abhyudaya Pratap Singh 33 no).
