We felt him slowly gaining momentum and eager to aim even higher. Third in the sprint on Saturday, a result which gave him a radiant smile after the race, Quentin Fillon Maillet hit harder this Sunday in the pursuit.
He won in Östersund, where the first stage of the Biathlon World Cup is taking place, ahead of the Swede Sebastian Samuelsson by 7 seconds and the Norwegian Johan-Olav Botn by 10 seconds at the end of a close race. It was on the last shot that QFM made the difference.
🇫🇷 VICTORY FOR QUENTIN FILLON MAILLET!

Starting 14 seconds late after his 3rd place in the sprint, the 33-year-old from Jura achieved an 18/20 behind the rifle (including 100% standing). Enough to glean the 18th success of his career in the World Cup… the first since a sprint in Oberhof in Germany, on January 10. A good omen for the Milan-Cortina Olympic Games next February.
