This Thursday, OM announced that it had reached an agreement with the City of Marseille concerning a new occupation agreement for the Orange Vélodrome, concluded for a period of fifteen years.
This Thursday, OM formalized the new agreement reached with the City of Marseille concerning the continued operation of the Orange Vélodrome. In its official press release, Olympique de Marseille explains that it welcomes “the agreement reached with the City of Marseille relating to a new agreement for the occupation of the Orange Vélodrome, concluded for a period of fifteen years”.

“This new agreement constitutes an important step for the development project of Olympique de Marseille. It opens up the possibility of gradually initiating investments intended to improve the experience of supporters and visitors, to strengthen security systems, as well as to enhance the stadium spaces, the beating heart of club life. This agreement responds to the recommendations made at ministerial level as well as those of the regional chamber of accounts, by defining clear, balanced and sustainable conditions for the operation of the stadium, both for the club and for the community and all the stakeholders concerned. Through this agreement, Olympique de Marseille confirms its desire to be part of an ambitious and sustainable project, serving its supporters and the sporting and economic influence of Marseille,” we can read in the official press release.
Earlier this Thursday, the president of the Marseille club, Pablo Longoria, welcomed an agreement considered “good news for everyone”. “This allows us to have a clearer horizon for making the necessary work and investments.” The Olympian leader also recognized during his mid-season review press conference that “there has not been much progress in the spectator experience” since 2014, at the Orange Vélodrome. Pablo Longoria having also stated his desire to improve the catering offer as well as the conditions of access to the OM stadium: “We must bring the Vélodrome space to life”.
