Before the start of the campaign, those around the Oklahoma City Thunder announced that Nikola Topic was suffering from testicular cancer for which he would be out indefinitely. At the beginning of October, the Serbian point guard began chemotherapy sessions around which there has been an obvious silence. Hence the surprise of seeing Topic warming up with the team before yesterday’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers.
Journalist Clemente Almanza, writer for The Thunder Wire, recorded a brief video in which Topic was seen making an entrance from the right and in which his head draws attention. Devoid of any hair due to the treatment she had to follow to fight the tumor.
The Thunder have not wanted to give updates on the player’s health status, but this should be a good sign. In the run-up to the NBA Cup semifinal, Jalen Williams already said that he had returned with a certain normality and with a strong mentality to training with the team. It is one thing to hear it, and another to see it with your eyes.
It should be noted that Topic has not yet debuted with the Thunder in the NBA, since he missed his first season due to injury and was diagnosed with cancer during the preseason.
