Nicolás Morales: Colombia’s Badminton Bronze & 2025 Success

With effort, discipline and a lot of heart, the Colombian badminton team won the bronze medal in the XX South American Seniors, held in Bucaramanga. On the national team was Nicolás Morales from Quindia, who raised the name of the department and the country in a tournament that brought together the best teams from Chile, Peru, Ecuador and Brazil.

Nicolás also competed in the individual category and managed to reach the quarterfinals, where he fell fighting until the last point against an athlete from Brazil.

His participation has a special value, since this was his first year competing in the Senior category, facing rivals with more experience. After closing this South American, the athlete finished his 2025 competitive calendar and will now begin a period of rest, with his sights set on the challenges that the 2026 season will bring.

During the year, Morales toured several countries such as Cuba, Mexico, Guatemala and Peru, gaining experience and important points in the ranking of the Badminton World Federation, where today he appears as the best-placed Colombian internationally.

At the national level, he reached the podium several times and had an outstanding performance in the Torneo Perla del Otún Future Series 2025. For his coach, Hugo Morales, these achievements are the result of constant work, the support of Indeportes Quindío and the departmental government.

With these results, Nicolás consolidates himself as one of the great references of Quindío badminton, along with María Yulieth Pérez and Sergio Zapata, dreaming big and aiming to leave Quindío well represented in the 2027 National Games.
