In recent years, the NFL has strengthened the tradition of including a couple of games on its schedule to be played during the Christmas day. The first time an NFL game was held on these dates was in 1971 with two games in the Divisional Round of the playoffs, then there was a pause from 1989 to 2019 when only games were scheduled if Christmas It coincided with the weekend. Starting in 2020, at least one game is scheduled for this date regardless of the day.

Until the previous season they had disputed 32 NFL games on Christmas and with those of this 2025 the list will grow to 35.
