Los Angeles Clippers 112-99 Detroit Pistons
The Los Angeles Clippers continue to shine and also take the important scalp of the Detroit Pistons. The hosts dominate from the first period (33-20) and never look back, with the guests never able to really worry them. Terrific performance for Kawhi Leonard: 55 points (career high) with 17/26 shooting, 11 rebounds, 5 steals and 3 blocks for the former Raptors and Spurs. Also James Harden contributes 28 points, but it’s the defense of coach Lue’s boys that is really starting to work. Really complicated evening for the Pistons: Cunningham (27 points) e To last (18+14 rebounds) try to keep the game going, but are not supported properly by their teammates. Second consecutive defeat for Detroit, with first place increasingly at risk, while the Clippers have their sights set on the play-in zone.
Toronto Raptors 141-127 Golden State Warriors (dopo OT)
Beautiful match at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, where the home team prevailed after extra time. Match made up of partials, with the Warriors trying to escape several times, but always being caught by the Raptors. In the final the race is point to point: Steph Curry (39 for him) he scores a triple for +7 less than two minutes before the siren, but the Canadians respond with a partial 7-0. Ingram he even has the winning shot, but his solution ends up on the rim and we go to overtime. In the extension, the youth and fresher legs of the Raptors make the difference: 19-5 in 5 minutes totally dominated. Impressive proof of Scottie Barnes under the scoreboards: 23 points, 25 rebounds and 10 assists for the Florida State product. Toronto gets back up after a complicated period and regains fourth place, while Golden State’s roller coaster continues: a very complicated season.
