Nay Sports Program for Seniors | Pays de Nay Health

The objective was to introduce healthy sports activities free of charge, over a period of three months, in order to help people regain the motivation to resume or start physical activity, supervised or independently.

Badminton, table tennis, aquagym, muscle strengthening, self-defense…

The majority of activities offered were based on the active involvement of the Pays de Nay association network: badminton, table tennis, aquagym, muscle strengthening, self-defense, etc.

The Espace de Vie Sociale thanked all the associations for their commitment to this program as well as the volunteers and speakers from Pau who offered much appreciated activities and awareness workshops.

This program was unanimously hailed as a success, as evidenced by some of the opinions collected from participants: “It was a great discovery. I really appreciated the diversity of the activities offered but also the quality of the supervision, with very dynamic speakers.” “I appreciated the range of activities giving everyone the opportunity to try out activities that we would probably not have considered on a personal basis. It was also a personal challenge, because my children and grandchildren did not think I would be able to do it, and this program became the common thread at home.”

“I have just moved to Nay and this participation allowed me to discover certain sports associations but also the Social Life Space, with which I am thinking of registering, because it also offers plenty of accessible activities.” “Thanks to this program, I found the motivation to practice physical activity, but in a supervised way, because it is difficult to practice alone.”
