Navy Freediver Breaks World Record | Deep Dive Length

This Sunday, a Navy instructor broke an impressive world record, that of the greatest number of breaststroke lengths in apnea in 24 hours.

World record broken. Chief Petty Officer Arthur, a French Navy instructor, broke the record this Sunday in Saint-Mandrier for the greatest number of free-diving breaststroke lengths in 24 hours. The record initially stood at 2024 lengths according to our colleagues from Nice-Matin. Arthur did 2032, or 50.8km. The Navy has indicated that the Guinness World Record should soon approve its performance.

The performance started at 10 a.m. this Sunday and ended the next day at the same time. For 24 hours, Arthur completed 25m lengths, stopping regularly to breathe, but also to hydrate, eat and change. For the occasion, a large team was mobilized: two justice commissioners, a judge, a team of nutritionists, a doctor and two nurses.
