Napoli vs Juventus: Lang & Attack Key to Victory?

Noa

NOS Football

Napoli did good business in Serie A by winning the top match against Juventus at home: 2-1. The team of basic players Noa Lang and Sam Beukema therefore takes over the leading position from Internazionale again.

With the successful trio Lang, Rasmus Højlund and David Neres, who have regularly scored goals in recent weeks, in attack, Napoli had the best of the game before half time.

The Italian champions took the lead after just seven minutes when Neres came up on the right and served Højlund. In the meantime, Lang, who has increasingly found his feet in Italy, appeared active and was regularly involved in attacks.

Mediocre Juventus

Juventus, with Teun Koopmeiners as one of the three defenders, offered little in return. The team from Turin was fortunate that headers from Giovanni Di Lorenzo (goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio saved) and Scott McTominay (post) did not go in.

Juventus leveled fifteen minutes after the break through Kenan Yildiz. The Turk received the ball in the loop from Weston McKennie and scored diagonally past goalkeeper Vanja Milinković-Savić.

For a moment Napoli did not know what to do with the setback, but again the attacking trio was at the basis for a new lead in the 78th minute. A Neres cross came onto the head of McKennie, who was chased by Lang, after which McKennie inadvertently delivered the ball to Højlund. The Dane then simply printed.

This new lead was liberating for the Neapolitans. Lang was close to making it 3-1 after a counter with Højlund, but the Dutch international was just too late to slide the ball into the goal.
