Napoli beat Bologna 2-0 in the final of the Italian Super Cup and, after the league title, celebrated winning the second trophy in the calendar year 2025. In the final played at the King Saud University Stadium in Saudi Arabia, David Neres became the hero, scoring both goals. Czech defender Martin Vitík remained only on the bench again.
The first half belonged to Napoli, who created a great chance after 10 minutes when Scott McTominay sent Eljif Elmas into the penalty area with a pass. The North Macedonian midfielder had enough time and space, but missed the left post in a one-on-one fight with goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovič-Savič.
What Elmas didn’t convert, Neres corrected a few minutes later. Six minutes before the break, the Brazilian winger got to the ball about 25 meters from goal and fired a technical shot with his left foot that flew over Federico Ravaglia and into the top left corner. Neres thus opened the scoring in the fourth game in a row, in which it had a shot, while Bologna was the first to concede for the seventh time in a row.

The Rossoblù could still think about a turnaround after the change of sides, but the decisive moment came after 12 minutes of the second half. Bologna tried to play from their own goal, Ravaglia sent a pass to Jhon Lucumí, who lost the ball under pressure. Neres punished his hesitation and made it 2:0 with an elegant lob over the running goalkeeper.
Bologna continued to try to get back into the game, but Napoli kept their composure and expertly controlled the rest of the match until the winning end. For coach Antonio Conte, the triumph marks another milestone. He won the Super Cup for the sixth time – three times as a player and three times as a coach – and confirmed his place among the most outstanding personalities of Italian football.
