December 23 Naples will host the stage of the project “
The Journey of the Olympic & Paralympic Flame Milan Cortina 2026”, the symbolic relay of the Olympic and Paralympic torch which will cross the national territory in view of the Winter Games.
The City Council, with a resolution approved unanimously, recognized the public interest in holding the event and defined the guidelines for signing a agreement with the Milano Cortina 2026 Foundationco-organizing the event.
Piazza del Plebiscito will be the heart of the celebrationthe arrival point of the relay and home to the final ceremony, which will see the participation of institutions, athletes and citizens, in a moment of celebration and sharing of Olympic values: inclusion, respect, solidarity.
The initiative fits into the path he sees Naples European Capital of Sport 2026 confirming the city’s role as a protagonist of major international events, after its recent designation as the venue for the 38th America’s Cup 2027.
