The episode dates back to last December 5, when the Operations Room of the Police Headquarters received a report of a violent attack against a man, hit with a baseball bat near the central Piazza Municipio of Vibo Valentia. When the police arrived, both the attacker and the victim had already left. While the local control operators were collecting the first information for the investigative investigations, personnel from the Flying Squad also intervened on site.
The alleged perpetrator has been identified
Thanks to rapid and accurate investigations, investigators were able to reconstruct the story, identifying the alleged perpetrator of the beating and the car used to drive away. The man, already known to the police, was immediately tracked down and subjected to a search: the baseball bat used during the attack was seized inside the vehicle he was using.
Oral complaint and warning
At the end of the formalities, the man was reported for aggravated personal injury and possession of objects capable of offending. At the same time he was notified of the oral warning from the police commissioner of Vibo Valentia, a preventive measure aimed at avoiding further disturbances to public safety and preventing more restrictive measures.
