WFCGroningen brought in the following two names: Youssef El Kachati and John Guidetti. The former of these is currently NEC’s third striker. There he has a lot of competition for a place at the point of attack with Japanese Kento Shiogai and Koki Ogawa. His contribution at NEC was therefore limited to eight games in which he scored twice and provided an assist. It should be noted that El Kachati has been out of action for some time due to an injury. However, the ambitious striker wants to play more after the winter, especially after he became one of the most sought-after strikers in the Netherlands after an exceptionally strong last season. However, Mounir Boualin was firm on X: NEC is not thinking about a winter departure and would prefer to keep El Kachati in the selection. A rental transfer therefore does not seem likely.
John Guidetti is the second option mentioned; the now 33-year-old striker concluded the 2025 season last month with AIK in the Swedish Allsvenskan. The Yellow-Blue finished disappointingly in seventh position. Guidetti played in 24 of the 30 games and scored twice, as well as providing two assists. Finding the net is certainly not a certainty for Guidetti since his return to Sweden. In four seasons at AIK he scored fourteen goals in 85 games. However, this rumor was also debunked, this time by Joost Blaauwhof in D’n Hoefcast. So we have to wait and see, it wouldn’t be the first time that Peter Maas suddenly pulls another rabbit out of the hat, contrary to rumors.
