Shooting continues to dominate the 33rd Southeast Asian Games.

Le Thi Mong Tuyen, who won the gold medal with teammate Nguyen Tam Quang in the men’s 10m air rifle medley relay at the 33rd SEA Games, plans to perform with confidence today with the goal of winning the women’s 10m air rifle individual event with her teammates. The players competing alongside Mong Thuyen are Phy Thanh Thao and Nguyen Thi Thao. If they advance to the finals at 9 a.m., Mong Thuyen and his teammates will play the finals at 11:45 a.m.

As the swimming competition enters its fourth day, the athlete receiving the most attention is Nguyen Huy Hoang’s 200m freestyle event. He previously won a bronze medal in this event at the 2023 Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games). But Vietnam’s best swimmer will have to face strong competition from Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. Huy Hoang will participate in the preliminary round starting at 9am and then advance to the final at 6pm.

The Vietnamese women’s volleyball team will face the Philippines in the semifinals.

In track and field, Vietnamese fans’ attention is focused on ‘gold medal girl’ Nguyen Thi Oan, who will compete in the women’s 5,000m final at 6:45 p.m. Nguyen Thi Oan, who won four gold medals at the last SEA Games, will compete in only three events at this year’s Games: the 5,000m, 3,000m steeplechase and 10,000m. Her goal is to win all three gold medals for Vietnamese athletics. Other hopefuls competing today include Vu Thi Ngoc Ha and Nguyen Thi Huong in the women’s triple jump, and Nguyen Trung Cuong and Le Thien Long in the men’s 5,000m.
