Mexico Border: Man Arrested With Weapons

Guatemala City, December 9 (AGN).- Guatemalan authorities reported the arrest of a heavily armed man in Agua Zarca, Santa Ana Huista, Huehuetenango, as part of an inter-institutional operation that responded to an illegal incursion registered on Monday, December 8 in the area bordering Mexico.

The National Civil Police (PNC) identified the captured person as Cleofer Zoé Marroquín Pérez40 years old, who was carrying an AK-47 rifle, a magazine and 30 ammunition while trying to enter Mexican territory.

Findings during the search in the area

After the arrest, security agents expanded patrols in the area and managed to locate a series of objects of high destructive power and technology allegedly used by illegal armed groups.

Among the confiscated items, the following stand out:
