BOLASPORT.COM – Argentina National Team goalkeeper, Emiliano Martinez, emphasized that his team will fight harder to defend its title at the 2026 World Cup.

The Argentine national team will come to the 2026 World Cup as defending champion.

This title was obtained after they won the tournament which was held in Qatar in 2022.

This success meant that Argentina finally ended its World Cup title drought since 1986.

The pressure on the shoulders of Lionel Messi et al. will also decrease when playing in the World Cup next year because the demands to become champions are not as big as before.

This is why Argentina is considered to be more relaxed when performing in tournaments held in the United States, Canada and Mexico next year.

However, Emiliano Martinez does not agree with this assumption.

The Aston Villa goalkeeper emphasized that Argentina would fight harder than before.

“People have to know that we will compete and give our best,” said Emiliano Martinez, quoted by BolaSport.com from the X Albiceleste Talk account.

“We don’t have any pressure to reach the World Cup final, but for me it would be painful not to get to the final game.”
