Arriving in 2023 in Mersin, he lifted the new club (founded in 2019) from the Turkish second division to the European Cup, through a championship title in the antechamber then a qualification for the playoffs in the first season in the elite.
And if the regular phase of BCL was satisfactory, rewarded by the home advantage in play-in against Le Mans, Mersin suffers in the championship, with eight defeats in eleven matches.
To replace Sevim, the name of Carles Duran is the one that circulates the most. Already seen in Türkiye last season with Darussafaka Istanbul, the Spaniard is particularly known for his long tenure at the head of Joventut Badalone.
BREAKING NEWS: Carles Duran, new coach of Turkish Mersin, replacing Can Servim in charge.
It will be Duran’s second experience in Türkiye after managing Darussafaka last season.
