Mbappé Wins PSG Wage Dispute: €60M Ruling

Paris St. Germain must pay his former striker Kylian Mbappé (26) 60 million euros (almost 1.5 billion crowns) for owed wages and bonuses. The court decided on it.

Mbappé demanded 55 million euros from the club as wages owed. The captain of the French national team transferred to Real Madrid for free after the expiration of his contract last summer. According to his representatives, PSG owed him three months’ wages and a portion of bonuses for a previous contract extension.

The club referred to a verbal agreement with the player, according to which Mbappé waived this money when PSG wanted to extend his contract again. He reportedly agreed at the time that he would not claim the amount if the Parisians let him go for free after the season.

Mbappé was right by the French League Association and its appeals committee. But the club declared that they would not abide by her decision and the case ended up in court, where the reigning Champions League winner was unsuccessful.

“We are satisfied with the court’s decision. It was to be expected given that wages were not paid,” said Mbappé’s legal representative Frédérique Cassereau.
