The first day of the Kerhorre Bad Tour, a tournament organized by the PLRK, was devoted to men’s singles and mixed doubles. Unsurprisingly, the seeds n°1 and 2, Thomas Jourdren (Trégunc Badminton Club) and Martin Boiveau (Bad’ Club Rostrenen), found themselves in the men’s singles final. While leading 20-14 in the first set, the Rostrenois player “lost his concentration” and was knocked down by his opponent (22-20). “I am surprised to have managed to hold on physically after the loss of the first.” Indeed, Martin Boiveau managed to find the physical and mental resources to return to the fight and pocket the second set (22-20).
Second chance in doubles for Jourdren
The decision would therefore be made in the third set. And after 54 minutes of a bitter duel between these two big guys, Martin Boiveau, a fine tactician, won by a whisker (21-19). “It was a very tactical match. I didn’t miss much. In difficult times he managed to make the right choices,” recognized Thomas Jourdren. The resident of Trégunc will have a second chance this Sunday since he will play the doubles with his club partner Arthur Deman.
