Mali CAN Squad: Bissouma & Ligue 1 Stars

Absent in recent months, Tottenham midfielder Yves Bissouma is making his return to the Eagles of Mali by joining the list of 28 for CAN 2025, revealed this Thursday by coach Tom Saintfiet.

Mali coach Tom Saintfiet announced on Thursday the list of 28 players selected for CAN 2025which begins on December 21 in Morocco. Absent during all the autumn gatherings and never appearing in the colors of Tottenham this season, Yves Bissouma is one of them. At the center of controversies over the use of nitrous oxide in England, the former Lille player could thus regain his captain’s armband of a team in which around ten players will play their first final phase of the African Cup, surrounded by the experienced Djigui Diarra, Sikou Niakaté, Aliou Dieng and Lassana Coulibaly.

Ligue 1 well represented

The Ligue 1 is well represented in all lines of this selection concocted by the Belgian technician, with the call-ups of Fodé Doucouré (Le Havre), Hamari Traoré (Paris FC), Ousmane Camara (Angers), Mamadou Sangaré (Lens), Lassine Sinayoko (Auxerre) and Kamory Doumbia (Brest), but not his Brest teammate Daouda Guindo.
