After the slap received against Toulouse, the Lyonnais lost this Saturday on the Castres lawn.
Having come close to victory in Montpellier last week (33-31), Castres obtained a valuable success against Lyonnais (36-22) lacking in away results. In front at the break thanks to a double from the elusive Wainiqolo, LOU gave in to the patient and structured play of Sadourny’s men, capable of scoring in long sequences as well as on bursts from Christian Ambadiang and Vuate Karawalevu.
At the end of the match, Loris Zarantonello, the Castres hooker declared: “The bonus today was a plus, if we had said to ourselves that we were going to win this match, knowing that in the first half it was rather complicated, the Lyonnais had possession… We were dominated, they were in our camp. It’s good to have this strength, the group is growing, we are aware that our objectives are high. It was a decisive match because Lyon came to take points, but we responded for 80 minutes.

For his part, Karim Ghezal, the Lyon coach, emphasizes that his team “made the first half that we were looking for with commitment. And in the second half, it’s the opposite, Castres had a penalty in the second half, in the 79th, they really managed to change the cursor and be disciplined. We have things to review, we are not on target with what we want, we will have to not make the same mistakes in the second part of the season. But there are some really positive things, we need to be able to go further.”
