The Lucentina quarry demonstrates its good moment with a gold and three bronzes in the end-of-season tournament
The Lucena Badminton Club has put the finishing touch to the 2025 season with an outstanding participation in the X Open Villa de Rute, held last Saturday at the Gregorio Piedra Municipal Pavilion in the town of Córdoba. Six players from the Lucencia club won four medals in a tournament that brought together athletes from different categories.
The competition, which took place during an intense day of more than seven hours, included the participation of players from the under 11, under 13, under 15, under 17 and senior categories. The Lucentine representatives competed in the under 13 and under 17 categories, each playing a minimum of four games, which according to the club president, Juan antonio Ramírez Valle, strengthens the experience and learning of its players.
The jewel of the day was the medal of gold achieved by Gema Barea in the under 13 female individual modality, standing out from the rest of the competitors in a highly contested category.
David Tellado climbed to the third step of the podium in men’s under 13 singles, while in the under 17 category, Alejandro Barea and Iván Ramírez achieved bronze in men’s doubles. The fourth medal came in the under 13 mixed doubles, where David Tellado and Gema barea demonstrated their good rapport.
In addition to the medalists, the Lucentino club was represented by Erik roldán, Rubén García and Iván Ramírez, who also demonstrated the high level of the local quarry.
Juan Antonio Ramírez Valle, president and coach of the Lucena Badminton Club, was satisfied with the results: “It has been a very satisfactory experience for our players, who have shown the good moment that the badminton quarry is going through in our town.” The club maintains “high expectations for next year 2026.”
