The captain appointed them as the teams’ coaches at his farewell at Pascual Guerrero. Their reunion was very emotional in the stadium.

Francisco Maturana qualified the National Team to two consecutive World Cups in 1990 and 1994. In addition, he won the tricolor’s only international title, the 2001 Copa América.
Néstor Lorenzo signed the team’s return to a World Cup after eight years. It will be in 2026.
