Amon-Ra St. Brown and the Detroit Lions lose an important game and miss the playoffs. The defeat also affects a rival.

The National Football League (NFL) playoffs will take place this season without German football professional Amon-Ra St. Brown and the Detroit Lions. Due to a 10:23 defeat at the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday evening, the Lions finally missed the finals, while their big local rivals, the Green Bay Packers in the NFC North, benefited from it.

Lions quarterback Jared Goff was disappointed after the game. “That’s really crap,” said the playmaker. “We’ll review the whole season next week, but yeah, it’s annoying.” Despite the poor performance of the Lions offense, St. Brown was one of the most noticeable players. The 26-year-old caught eight of Goff’s 13 passes and gained 68 yards. Isaac TeSlaa scored the only touchdown for Detroit. The Minnesota Vikings, on the other hand, had no chance of making the play-offs before the game.

In the NFC, the Carolina Panthers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are still fighting for the last play-off ticket. In the AFC, six out of eight participants have already been determined, while the Pittsburgh Steelers, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts and Baltimore Ravens still have a chance at the remaining spots.

In the AFC, the Denver Broncos beat the Kansas City Chiefs with a 20:13 win and are currently in first place with 13:3 victories. The Chiefs, whose star quarterback Patrick Mahomes is out due to a serious knee injury, have been out of the playoff race for some time.
