Liofilchem wins in Milan against Urania with a great performance, at the end of an intense match conducted from the start, but only decided in the final minutes. This victory makes it 8 points ahead of Ruvo di Puglia, defeated in Bologna by Fortitudo.
A great performance was expected from the Biancazzurri and, not surprisingly, it arrived: Laquintana and his teammates were very good at believing in it until the end, even after the recovery of the Lombards which took shape in the fourth period. A very effective defense was decisive, capable of leaving Urania with only 14 points in the last ten minutes.
For Roseto at the end of the match two players in double figures: 19 each for Cannon and Robinson, with the American big man author of a 360° game with 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 27 rating; for the point guard, however, 9 assists and three triples in the last 5 minutes which sent the match towards Abruzzo. Also important mention for an excellent Kiryl Tsetserukou with 9 points in 14 minutes and Tommy Laquintana with 14 points.
Liofilchem starts strong straight away, 10-15 with Laquintana’s triple launched by Bassi. Tsetserukou also makes a good comeback, Urania (Gentile out and with Rogic unused on the bench) returns with Taylor, but the Blue and Whites are definitely there and take the maximum advantage at 12-21 and then at 14-27 at the end of the period.
In the second half the hosts raise the intensity with the Cavallero-D’Almeida duo, 28-36. Then a triple from Landi puts the guests back on track at 28-41, with the period ending at 30-44.
Upon returning from the long break, Milan puts the fifth, Taylor and Cavallero bring the locals back to minus 7, 37-44. Bassi timeout and Rosetano counterpartial with Laquintana and the usual Cannon. Sabatini is a factor, Amato’s first triple arrives and Urania gets back in touch, 46-53 in the 27th. Timperi puts 4 in a row, followed closely by Taylor, until 55-62 at the end of the quarter with baskets from Tsetserukou and the usual Taylor.
The last ten minutes are incandescent: immediate 6-0 for Milan with Lupusor and Taylor, Roseto struggles and scores after two minutes of play with Cannon, but Morgillo first and Cavallero then seal Milan’s lead at 65-64 in the 34th minute. Inertia totally changed, Morgillo again for +3 with Liofilchem struggling in attack. Landi scores from the line, then Robinson brings Roseto back ahead with a crazy triple and Cinciarini follows close behind for 67-71 in the 36th. Taylor misses twice in a row and D’Almeida does no better from the line: here “Scoop” Robinson definitively enters the scene with two sidereal torpedoes from 6.75 that send the blue and whites flying to +9, 68-77. Urania is no longer there, with Cannon first and then Robinson definitively closing the discussion, with the scoreboard reading 69-81 in the end.
In the next round, Coach Bassi’s men will return to the PalaMaggetti: on Sunday 28 December the match at 6.00 pm against Valtur Brindisi for the last unmissable match of 2025.
