The Hannutois returned victorious from Cointe to validate their place on the P1 podium at mid-season.
With Collard (18 points) and Materne (22 units) immediately productive, the Hesbignons broke away at 20-31 after ten minutes despite bombs from Jérôme (19 points). The Grenouilles reacted by regaining their defensive values to eat up their deficit and get back to 37-41 at the break.
Returning from the locker room, Kinet (10 points) and the visitors moved forward and widened the gap, 48-60 after half an hour. New reaction from Di Prospero (12 points) and his teammates who, however, had to admit defeat, 64-71.
After a fanfare start, the Hesbignons have fallen back into line somewhat but can still be credited with an excellent first half of the season, finishing on the podium with nine victories in thirteen matches. For their arrival within the provincial elite, the Cointois completed the first round with an almost balanced record: six victories and seven losses.
