Leonberg Sports Honor: Submit Proposals – March 27th

The election for the athletes and team of the year has been completed – decathlon world champion Leo Neugebauer won in the men’s category, Franziska Preuß, the overall winner in the Biathlon World Cup in the women’s category, and the German basketball players, who became European champions, triumphed in the team category.

Now the athlete election is coming up in Leonberg in 2025 – the new mayor Tobias Degode is inviting people to this traditional event for the first time in 2026. At the annual public ceremony, the city of Leonberg honors all athletes, teams and officials who achieved outstanding achievements in national sport in 2025.

In 2026, the sporting achievement will be honored on March 27th in the town hall. Athletes, club directors and trainers can submit their sporting successes from 2025. Non-cash prizes and sports medals of honor in bronze, silver and gold are awarded – to young people, active athletes, senior citizens and committed officials.

The digital online forms and the current guidelines for honoring athletes are available on the city website at www.leonberg.de/Sportlerehrung. Registrations are possible until January 31st.
