Helsingborgs IF and 21-year-old Leo Hedenberg agree on a three-year contract. The offensive midfielder, who also plays as a wing forward, most recently came from two seasons in Ängelholms FF.
Leo Hedenberg comes from Halmstad and began his football career in Väpnö IF before moving to BK Astrio. There he made his debut in the men’s Division 3 as a 16-year-old before taking the step over to Halmstads BK’s academy operations. Before the 2024 season, he went to Ängelholms FF in Division 1 south. In the first year, the offensive midfielder accounted for five goals in 28 games. This year, the result was five goals and six assists in 28 series matches.
During the month of November, the 21-year-old trained with HIF. Now it is clear that the career continues in red and blue.
– It feels very good and incredibly fun to get everything ready. After all, I was here and got to see the facilities, meet the teammates and everything around feels really professional, the whole package attracted me. Most of all, I’m looking forward to going out at Olympia, winning matches and hearing the crowd, says the new acquisition.
– Leo is a versatile and promising young offensive player who has done well in Etta. We look forward to helping him take the next step in his development here at HIF, says men’s team manager Stevie Grieve.
We welcome Leo to HIF!
