It took four games. Now the 20-year-old from Västerås has scored both goals and assists in his new club.
A club and city that, incidentally, he enjoys very well.
– Yes, damn it. It’s as good as anything and it’s actually nice to move to a smaller town. I’m having a great time.
Even better now then it might seem after things loosened up for him in terms of points against Troja.
It was he who partially set the tone for Vimmerby’s turnaround when, in numerical superiority, he equalized at 1–1 at the end of the first period. It was a goal-scoring finish. It just said bang, then the puck was firmly in the net.
– I got a good position and it sat quite well, he says with a smile.
It was obvious he was having fun out there on the ice tonight.
– We make a good match and I think we have found a really good chemistry in our chain, he says and praises the collaboration with Arvid Caderoth and Hugo Orrsten.
Now he also knows what it’s like to win at his new club.
VH coach Eric Karlsson was as usual collected afterwards and of course very pleased with what he got to see from VH from the booth.
– It was an important match for us and good that we bounced back after the IKO match. We still haven’t put too much weight and overanalyzed that match. We have a strong belief in ourselves and we know what we can do. We will show what group we are tonight. In the five-on-five game, I also think that we are clearly better than Troy.
You have had problems with goal shooting. Tonight you score four goals in a very short time. What do you say about that?
– Great that we get dividends and also fun that Anton (Carlsson), Arvid (Hurtig) and Hugo Lejon get to make three of them. It is important that they get to score.
The victory means that you are now nine points ahead of Troy. What does this mean?
– We don’t look too much at the table, but of course it’s good that we won again, says Eric Karlsson and welcomes the support from the VH fans, which means a lot.
– It is very important that we get good support. It elevates us and is also important for the economy. Now we have four more home games in a row and I hope they will continue to support us as much as they can.
In terms of the table, the win meant no changes for VH. They remain in twelfth place. However, the distance to both Västerås and Troja increased during the dash. It is noteworthy that after 31 rounds played, Vimmerby have already won more games in the Allsvenskan this season after regular time than they did during the entire season last year. Now they have taken nine three-pointers against eight in the debut season.
