No chance against the superstars: World and European champion Dennis Schröder suffered a significant defeat with the Sacramento Kings in the NBA. The Kings clearly lost 101:125 to the Los Angeles Lakers with the exceptional talents LeBron James and Luka Doncic.
National team captain Schröder had eleven points, two rebounds and seven assists. But that was far too little against the star power of the Lakers. The 40-year-old James scored 24 points, the Slovenian Doncic was the best scorer of the game with 34 points.
Sacramento has a record of eight wins and 24 defeats and is second to last in the Western Conference. The Lakers, for whom Würzburg native Maxi Kleber scored two points, returned to the road to success after three defeats in a row and are clearly on course for the playoffs in fourth place in the West.
NBA star with career high
Another top star also had a great day: Kawhi Leonard scored a career-high 55 points in the Los Angeles Clippers’ 112:99 home win against the Detroit Pistons.
“Every time we put this jersey on, we have to fight and try to win the basketball game,” said Leonard (34), who has been playing in the NBA since 2011: “And that’s a priority for me.” It was the Clippers’ fourth win in a row.
