Miami/Dallas (dpa) – Without the injured European basketball champion Dennis Schröder, the Sacramento Kings clearly won in the NBA for the first time this season. In the 127:111 (72:55) win over the Miami Heat, Zach LaVine excelled with 42 points. Schröder has already been missing five games due to a hip injury, and the first four were all lost.
After the first quarter of the season, the Kings are stuck in the bottom of the Western Conference table despite several All-Stars in the squad such as Russell Westbrook, DeMar DeRozan and Domantas Sabonis.
Even struggling Mavs win
The Dallas Mavericks started the season just a little better. In the 122:109 win against the Houston Rockets, the Texans managed to make amends after a clear defeat the day before against the top team in the league, the Oklahoma City Thunder. Anthony Davis scored 29 points against Houston after the Mavs star had recorded the weakest return of his NBA career with just two points the day before.

Harden is now the tenth best scorer
Another team that isn’t doing well this season despite star power is the Los Angeles Clippers. The 106:109 defeat at the Minnesota Timberwolves was the eighth in the last ten games. James Harden missed the equalizer with the last throw of the game, but was the best thrower with 34 points. The 36-year-old veteran also moved past Carmelo Anthony into the top ten in the NBA’s all-time points list.
