National soccer player Kai Havertz is about to make his comeback for Arsenal FC. As team manager Mikel Arteta announced, the striker returned to training before the Premier League leaders’ victory against Crystal Palace in the League Cup (8:7 iE) on December 23rd. “I think it will only be a matter of days,” said the coach.
The 26-year-old only played for Manchester United on the first matchday last August this season. Shortly afterwards he underwent knee surgery and has been missing from the Gunners ever since. Havertz had already missed large parts of the second half of the season due to a thigh injury.
“Let’s see how he reacts to this in the next step. He’s a player we missed a lot, a player who gives the team a different dimension. So I’m very happy that he’ll be back soon,” said Arteta.
Arsenal will face Brighton and Hove Albion in the league on Saturday (4 p.m.) before taking on Brighton and Hove Albion next Tuesday (9:15 p.m./both Sky) against Aston Villa.
