It almost sounds like a bad joke, but in 2011 none other than Kevin Durant was about to move to the Basketball Bundesliga. There was actually already an agreement with what was then BBC Bayreuth, the contract was ready, only the last questions needed to be clarified. For example: Why the hell Bayreuth?
Kevin Durant is a big hip-hop fan, that much is known. A few years ago he described Drake as his favorite musician, Durant’s favorite album is from him (“Take Care”, as he revealed in 2019), and KD also likes to appear in his music videos. Otherwise, hip-hop greats like The Notorious BIG, Wu-Tang Clan and Kanye West can be found in Durant’s pregame playlist.
It is not known whether he occasionally relaxes to the sounds of classical music, like LeBron James does (“I also listen to a lot of Beethoven and that shit”). In November 2011, exactly that was a hot topic of discussion among German basketball fans.
