The number of players seeking to be drafted reaches 100.
The B League updated the “B League Draft 2026 Player List” on December 17th. This time, four players, including Tokai University’s Kento Akama, were announced, bringing the number of players hoping to be drafted to 100.
Born in Fukuoka Prefecture, Akama is currently 20 years old and is a shooting guard with a height of 189cm and 81kg. At Fujieda Meisei, he attracted attention as a point getter representing his generation, and went on to study at Tokai University. He contributed to the team as a main member from his first year, and played a key role in winning the “Kanto University Basketball Rookie Tournament” consecutively. In this year’s “Kanto University Basketball League”, he averaged 22.36 minutes of playing time, averaging 13.0 points and 0.9 assists. His 3-point shooting success rate was 41.1%.
Tokai University coach Takayuki Irino said on the basketball club’s official website that he respected Akama’s determination, and Akama said, “As I face basketball every day, I have come to think strongly that I want to develop myself at an even higher level than I am now in order to realize my dream of becoming an active player in the B League.As a result, I have come to this decision. I am deeply grateful for the support of Coach Irino, the staff including Coach Rikukawa, and my teammates, who listened to me kindly and always respected my wishes until I came to this decision.I will take on the challenge of the path I have chosen with responsibility and determination,” he wrote, expressing his gratitude for his two years at Tokai University.
