The Missouri club has gone 6-9 so far in 2025 and is already guaranteed to miss the playoffs. On Christmas Day, the Chiefs will host the Denver Broncos for their final home game of the season.
After the last campaign, Kelce seriously considered retiring from football. Many are wondering if the tight end is now ready to move on, having recently become engaged to singer Taylor Swift.
At a press briefing last Friday, the 36-year-old footballer simply committed himself to the rest of this season, affirming that he would continue to give “everything he has” in the last two matches.
“It’s a question of integrity,” he also said. I am committed to being a Chief, and I love what I do. I know I’ve dreamed of experiencing these moments and playing for an NFL team since I was a kid. Finding that mindset gives you more motivation than you will ever need.”
“That’s the way you have to approach the job, whether you’re in the playoff race or not. I’m going to make sure these guys know I’m here and I’m giving them absolutely everything I have.”
Still efficient
Kelce is having a good campaign and was just selected for the Pro Bowl game for the 11th time in his NFL career. In 15 games this year, he has caught 68 passes for 803 yards and five touchdowns.
The Ohio native is currently playing his 13e season in the Goodell circuit. He won the Super Bowl three times and was named to the league’s first all-star team four times.
Kelce holds several NFL records. He is notably the player who caught the most passes during the playoffs (174), as well as the one who managed to amass at least 100 yards in a post-season duel the most often (9).
The athlete who has never worn a professional uniform other than that of the Chiefs is also the tight end who scored the most touchdowns in the playoffs (20) and who amassed the most yards during a season (1,416).
In his NFL career, Kelce made 1,072 catches for 12,954 yards and 82 majors.
